モーシン・ハミッド（Mohsin Hamid, 1971年7月23日 - ）は、パキスタン系イギリス人の著作家。

経歴[編集]

(https://www.shinchosha.co.jp/writer/6554/) パキスタン・ラホール生れ。小学校時代の一時期をアメリカで過ごし、のちにパキスタンに戻るが、再びアメリカにわたってプリンストン大学およびハーヴァード大学ロースクールに学ぶ。卒業後、マッキンゼー・アンド・カンパニーに勤務する傍ら執筆をつづけ、2000年に小説「Moth Smoke」でデビュー。

2007年発表の The Reluctant Fundamentalist（邦題『コウモリの見た夢』）がブッカー賞の最終候補に残る。

2019年12月現在はラホールとロンドンとニューヨークを行き来しつつ創作を続け、著名な新聞や雑誌に政治や芸術に関するエッセイを寄稿している。

受賞歴[編集]

Hamid has personally been rewarded a number of times. In 2013, Foreign Policy named him one of their "100 Leading Global Thinkers." In 2018, he was named a Fellow of the Royal Society of Literature, as well as a Sitara-i-Imtiaz in Pakistan.
