ジェラルド・カーシュ（Gerald Kersh, 1911年8月26日 - 1968年11月5日）はイギリス出身の作家。 別筆名にピアズ・イングランド。

生涯と作品[編集]

ロンドン南西部の町テディントン出身。パン屋、用心棒、レスラー、事務員、バーテンダーなどさまざまな職業を経験したのち、1934年に長篇Jews without Jehovahでデビュー。Night and the City（1938年）は好評を呼び、二度映画化[※ 1]されている。第2次世界大戦では軍務につき、兵士をテーマにした書籍を数作執筆し、従軍記者として働いた。戦後はニューヨークやカナダに住み、短篇「壜の中の手記」でエドガー賞 短編部門を受賞。ミステリ、ファンタジー、SF、ホラーなど幅広い作風で知られ、現在では短篇小説が評価されている。作中、ときに聞き手としてカーシュ自身が登場する。
