『VARIETY -30th Anniversary Edition-』（ヴァラエティサーティース・アニバーサリー・エディション）は、2014年 11月19日に発売された、竹内まりやのアルバム『VARIETY』のリイシュー・アルバム。

解説[編集]

初の全曲竹内まりや作詞・作曲、山下達郎プロデュースによる、ムーン・レーベル移籍第一弾アルバム『VARIETY』^{[注釈 1]}発売から30周年を迎えた2014年 (2014)、最新リマスター&ボーナス・トラックでリリースされたアニヴァーサリー・エディション。ブックレットには歌詞のほか、竹内自身による『VARIETY 解説』と『「VARIETY」曲目解説』。山下による『「シンガー」から「シンガー・ソングライター」へ』を収載。

これまでリリースされたCDは、ディスク表面がメーカー共通のデザインだったが、今回の30周年盤では新たにデザインされたオリジナル・レーベルになった。また、ブックレットはオリジナル・アナログ盤からトレースしたものがリファインされていたが、オリジナルのデザインを踏まえて一新された。

アナログ盤は同年12月10日発売。2014年 (2014)リマスタリング音源のオリジナル本編のみを重量盤180g仕様のディスク2枚に分けて4面に収録。ジャケットはダブルジャケット仕様でオリジナルLPと同じく、ジャケット内側に歌詞と楽曲毎のパーソネルが記載されている。また、ディスク・レーベルはオリジナル盤ではメーカー共通のデザインだったが、アートワークと合わせて新デザインに変更された。

アルバム収録のために、リズム隊と仮歌まではレコーディングされたものの、時間的なことなどからこの楽曲と「夜景」（シングル「恋の嵐」カップリング曲）の2曲は外された。その2年後、中森明菜のアルバム『CRIMSON』にこの作品を提供し、竹内自身のテイクはお蔵入りになったままだった。竹内によれば、ボーナス・トラックとして収録されたこの音源は当初のままの状態なので歌も演奏も完全形ではないが、それも含めて楽しんでもらえれば幸いだという^{[book 1]}。

当時流行していた「クラブ・ミックス」と呼ばれる12インチ・シングル・ロング・バージョン。デジタル4トラック・レコーダーを使ってエディットされている。当時発売されたばかりのサンプリング・マシンを使って、2日がかりで作られた^{[book 1]}。
