ジョサイア・チャイルド

サー・ジョサイア・チャイルド（* 1630年/31年ごろ ロンドン、† 1699年6月22日 ）は、イギリスの経済学者、商人、重商主義者である。

彼はイギリス東インド会社の総督であり、英国インドの経済活動家であった。彼は、最初はホイッグ党、次にトーリ 党に代わって下院に議席を持ち、政治に関わっていた。1678年に彼は男爵の称号を授与された。彼はスチュアート朝末期チャールズ2世とジェームズ2世の朝廷で活躍していた。オレンジ公ウィリアム3世が権力を掌握した後、彼は政治生活から撤退しなければならなかった。彼は重商主義の考え方を広める作品を発表した。
