whale steaks served with potato salad and fried onion and mushroom.
Recipe (2 persons)
1 onion
3-4 mushroom
500 g whale meat
soy sauce
balsamic vinegar
pepper
Cut the meat up in serving size of about 2 cm thickness. Dry the meat with a paper napkin or towel and rub in pepper. Heat up a frying pan with oil and fry the pieces for a minute on each side, while frying them sprinkle the pieces with soy sauce and balsamic vinegar. When done, take out the meat and put on a plate for later.
Add a cup of water to the used pan and boil it for a few minutes to create a sauce. Put this in a small kettle to keep warm and rinse the pan.
Cut up the onion in rings and the musroom, add some butter to the frying pan and fry the onion until it starts to turn soft. Then add the mushroom and cook this for 5 minutes.
Take out the mushroom and onion and put it in a serving bowl. Then add some more butter, turn up the heat. When the butter is boiling add the meat for a quick frying, about half a minute on both sides. The important thing is not to overcook the meat, we want it red inside.
Now all is ready. Serve the meat with a potato salad and the fried onion and mushroom. Pour some of sauce over the meat.
