Note the tabs around the bottom of the OS board. These are keying that force the board to only install in the bottom slot.
The potentiometer on the processor card shifts the GTIA output signal. Used in factory and by service centers to tune the video out put to the proper color signal range. There is a hole in the Atari 800 metal case/Faraday cage allowing a screwdriver to adjust the potentiometer when the computer is assembled.
